On & Off Car Brake Disc Skimming
Brake disk skimming is the process in which the brake disks of a vehicle is skimmed to renew the disk surface. The most commonly used discs on vehicles are ventilated discs but one can also opt for solid discs. Disc skimming is now a very popular procedure to renew brake disks due to the affordability of the process.
A few common issues can be easily fixed by brake disc skimming. You can feel vibration through the brake pedal caused by DTV (disc thickness variation) due to uneven wear on the disc. If you have noisy brakes which are making a squealing noise, it could be down to lipped discs. A quick skim will get this fixed for you.
CV Joint and Driveshaft Specialist
Constant velocity joints, commonly known as CV joints, are located at each end of the drive shaft. They connect the wheels to the axles as well as to the transmission. CV joints shift torque at a controlled speed to the wheels. They are also responsible for the up and down motions of the suspension system.
A worn outer CV joint will produce loud clicking noises when you turn sharply. Usually, this noise will increase with acceleration. A worn inner CV joint can cause loud clunking noises when switching between drive and reverse.
Engine Service with Computer Diagnostics
An engine is like the heart of a car. It needs to run smooth in order to keep your car moving. It is important to keep the engine fit and functioning efficiently.
Using the correct parts and consumables for your petrol or diesel vehicle will ensure that performs the way it should and extends the life time on the road.
With the aid of computer diagnostic tests we are able to test your car’s components and systems to check for issues with components like the engine, transmission, oil tank, throttle, and many more
Clutch System Repairs
The clutch pressure plate is an important part of your manual vehicle’s clutch system. It is a heavy metal plate that is controlled by springs and a lever. Its main purpose is to apply pressure to the primary clutch plate (or clutch disc), holding it against the engine flywheel. This allows energy to flow from the engine crankshaft, through the engaged clutch into the transmission / gearbox system, then through driveshafts and to the wheels.
When the driver presses down on the clutch pedal, the pressure plate stops applying pressure to the primary clutch plate which disengages (removes friction pressure) between the clutch pressure plate, the clutch plate and the engine flywheel. This interrupts the transmission of engine power, allowing the driver to easily engage and change gears.
Minor Scratch & Dents
Minor scratch and dent repair. If you drive a vehicle, you know that dents and scratches are part of owning one. You can be careful and cautious as you want but those run a way abandon shopping trolleys, other drivers opening there car doors on your fender, tight parking bay or the other hundreds of different scenarios that will scuff up your vehicle.
Suspension
The suspension system essentially acts as a stabiliser for your car, minimising the impact of every bump, hole and curve in the road while maximising the friction between the tyres and road surface.
The suspension system consists of tires, the air in the tires, springs, shock absorbers, struts, arms, Steering racks, bars, linkages, bushings, tie rod ends and joints.
Cooling System
System components include a radiator to dissipate heat, a fan or fans to ensure adequate airflow for radiator cooling, a thermostat valve that opens when the desired operating temperature is reached and a water pump (or coolant pump) to circulate coolant through the engine, hoses and other components.
Braking System
This system consists of a master cylinder that sends pressurized brake fluid to the brake caliper, causing its pistons to press against a steel rotor disc, creating friction to slow the spinning of the wheels.
Engine Mountings
An engine mount’s primary purpose is to secure an engine into machinery and absorb any shocks and vibrations when the machinery is operating.
Wheel Bearings
Since wheel bearings are what your tires spin on, they can reduce your acceleration as they fail. Due to poor lubrication or rust, wheel bearings can start to perform worse, and they won’t let your vehicle acceleration freely.
